Cleaning gas cooktops and rangetops is easy.
First, remove the grates. Wash the cooktop with mild, soapy water and a soft cloth. Wash the grates in the sink under running water with mild, soapy water and a sponge. Next, hand dry everything. DO NOT soak the grates.
