Electric & Induction Cooktops

  • Push the ON/OFF button before selecting your burner. Customers often select their burner first (instead of the ON/OFF button) and wonder why it isn’t turning on.
  • Your cooktop may automatically turn itself off for safety reasons. This is due to the cooktop surface getting too hot. To prevent this, make sure the diameter of your pot or pan is similar in size to the burner you’re using. Don’t use a pot that’s too big or too small for the burner.
  • Clean glass cooktops regularly to help keep them in top shape. To remove burnt-on sugar, use a scraper to scrape it off quickly while warm. Use the scraper at a low angle (about 20°). Don’t use the scraper at a high, harsh angle. Doing so could create cause pits and scrapes on the glass cooktop.
  • Shop Glass Cooktop Cleaner
  • Shop Glass Scraper
  • Shop Glass Scraper Replacement Blades

Gas Cooktops

  • Clean the gas cooktop and grates with mild, soapy water and a sponge. Do not soak the grates.
  • Keep ignitors clean to help prevent blockage. If they’re blocked, they might not create a flame. To clean the ignitors, just wipe them with a cotton swab and remove the debris with a toothpick.
