Oven Maintenance

  • Oven Interior – Run the self-cleaning program on your oven by following the instructions in your owner’s manual. Before starting the process, wipe away any food debris and spillage in the oven and remove all racks, baking dishes and accessories. Wash racks with warm, soapy water and a soft cloth, then dry thoroughly. The Bosch Oven Cleaner can also be used for small, spot-cleaning needs.
  • Oven Exterior – After the oven has cooled, use a soft cloth with mild, soapy water to wipe it down. Dry immediately with a soft cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners and sponges as well as chlorine-based products. After washing, use the Bosch Stainless Steel Conditioner to condition your steel to a gleaming shine (do not apply to smudge-proof, black or easy-clean steel, logos, or control markings). Apply the conditioner in the direction of the steel grain. Also, the Bosch Degreaser can help remove any greasy residues that may be left behind. Black steel and easy clean steel can simply be washed with mild, soapy water and a soft cloth – no steel conditioner or degreaser needed.
  • Test a Recipe – Test a recipe or two before your big gathering. This helps you refine your recipe and check your oven’s function before the big day. Cooktop Maintenance

Gas Cooktops - Simply wash the cooktops and grates with mild, soapy water and a soft cloth. The Bosch Degreaser can help remove any greasy residues that may be left behind.

Electric & Induction Cooktops - Let the cooktop cool and use the Glass Scraper at a shallow angle (20° to 30° degrees) to remove dried-on food. Avoid using the scraper at higher angles to avoid scratching the glass cooktop. Next, apply the Bosch Glass Cooktop Cleaner with a soft cloth or paper towel to clean the cooktop. Wipe off any excess with a damp cloth.

Hood Maintenance

Hood Exterior - Wipe the steel exterior with mild, soapy water and soft cloth. Dry immediately with a soft cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners and sponges as well as high alcohol-content and chlorine-based cleaners. After washing, use the Bosch Stainless Steel Conditioner to condition your steel to a gleaming shine (do not apply to smudge-proof, black or easy clean steel, logos, or control markings). Apply the conditioner in the direction of the steel grain. Also, the Bosch Degreaser can help remove any greasy residues that may be left behind. Black steel and easy clean steel can simply be washed with mild, soapy water and a soft cloth - no steel conditioner or degreaser needed.

Clean Grease Filters -Washing your hood's metal grease filters regularly with mild, soapy water and a soft cloth helps maintain its cleanliness and safety. Dry thoroughly before reinserting into the hood.

Replace Charcoal Filters (if applicable) - If your Bosch ventilation uses a recirculation module or doesn't vent to the outside, it uses a charcoal filter that should be replaced a few times a year, depending on usage. Charcoal filters absorb odors from the air that's recirculated in the kitchen (instead of being vented outside), changing them will help keep your kitchen smelling fresh.
