Have you ever wondered what you should consider when buying a refrigerator? I remember when house hunting, I’d B-line it straight to the appliances. Move over “good bones”, give me all the stainless steel.

So when Bosch invited me to get up close and personal with their 800 Series Counter-Depth Fresh by Design™ Refrigerator – I said “how soon can I come?” The Bosch home appliances showroom, located at the famous Merchandise Mart in downtown Chicago, does not disappoint. Although it was not my first time visiting Bosch, it was my first private tour.

And let me tell you. I’ve never had someone show me around a refrigerator like this before. I was so impressed with the amount of thought that went into every detail, I broke down my recap into two blog posts so I could cover everything.

1. Thoughtful Design – If you are renovating your kitchen, building or in the market for a new fridge, you will truly appreciate this.
2. Advanced Freshness – How it makes your everyday easier – from grocery shopping, to entertaining, to even saving you time and money.

Today, we’ll concentrate on Bosch’s thoughtful design! Once you read this, you will understand why it’s the most advanced and beautiful refrigerators available. Not only is it stunning, but it’s best-in-class freshness system and innovative features are designed to keep your food fresh up to 3x longer.* Hence Bosch’s coined statement, “That’s Fresh by Design™."

So, come on! Let me show you around.

Built-in look.

Get a built-in look thanks to the 800 Series’ true counter-depth design. Since it sits flush with your countertops, has hidden hinges and feet, it blends in seamlessly with your kitchen design.

A sleek appearance.

First and foremost, can we talk about those French doors? GORGEOUS. If you pay attention, you’ll also notice there are no protruding handles and the outside stainless steel is finished for easy clean ups and wipe downs.

Small items in refrigerator

Especially ideal for smaller or tricky spaces.

I’m telling you…this isn’t the stuff you think about until it’s too late. The French doors open above your typical countertop height. For some, this typically isn’t an issue. However, if your refrigerator placement is in a corner or next to another appliance, you’ll be able to open the doors all the way.

Bosch refrigerator with FlexBar

No more digging.

No more digging in the back or through a bunch of frozen boxes to get to the bottom. The organization of the shelves, doors and drawers in both the fridge and freezer compartments are the best I’ve seen. The fridge portion includes their FlexBar™ – so you can utilize all that unused space. It’s easy to sneak in an extra bottle of wine and house overflowing condiments. This also allows you to see everything at once and take a quick note of what needs to be replenished or not. This would work quite nicely for our ridiculous collection of different mustards. Haha!

Bosch refrigerator drawer with fresh fruit

An entertainer’s dream.

You’ll also find there’s plenty of room for platters and serving trays. You can even store them in the spacious Chiller Drawer too. Imagine the parties you could throw with ease! Before company comes, I normally make a nice charcuterie board the day before {since there isn’t enough space to store them}. But with this particular refrigerator, I’d be able to save time by making them the night ahead.

Bosch refrigerator gallon door bins

Gallon door bins.

Mamas will appreciate the gallon door bins. We go through milk like water thanks to Penelope. I’d stock up for weeks with all the extra storage on the doors alone. This refrigerator fits up to four gallon containers, two in each door bin.

Details galore.

The lighting, glass shelving and stainless steel back wall gives the inside of your fridge an actual ambiance. It’s so pretty it would make me want to cook every night!

As you can see, there’s so much to consider and think about before investing in a new appliance like a refrigerator. Bosch is known for their timeless design, and advanced innovation, so I highly recommend giving this particular appliance a consideration.

Next week, I can’t wait to share how this can be a game changer for meal planning, saving on food waste, less trips to the grocery store and more. If you have any questions or want, feel free to ask here. And if you can’t wait till next week, learn more on Bosch’s website.
