Grandma's Cleaning Hacks: How to Clean Pots & Pans

Woman clapping hands with powder

Give your dirty pots and pans a makeover with a self-made scouring cleanser. Grandma knows that baking soda can be used not only for baking cakes and cookies, but also as a natural scouring powder.

Dirty pot with ingredients to the side

So do it like Grandma and make your own scouring cleanser with only 3 ingredients:

Pouring salt into a clear bowl
Pouring dish soap into a spoon

Mix 1/4 cup of baking soda with 1 tbsp of dish soap.

Pouring white vinegar into a bowl
Mixing ingredients together in a bowl

Then add white vinegar and stir until the mix is thick and creamy.

Putting the mixture on top of the bowl

Now spread the mixture on the bottom of your dirty pots and pans and let it sit.

Washing off mixture on the pot with water

After a few hours, wash it off with a sponge.

Drying off pan with a towel

And voilà: clean and shiny cookware - almost like new.
