Refrigerators 101: Quick start guide

After your refrigerator is installed, wait at least one hour. Before switching on the fridge, wipe it with a cloth and lukewarm water.

If your refrigerator has an icemaker, make sure the ice bin is inserted and aligned correctly. If it’s not aligned properly, the ice maker won’t create ice.

Recommended temperature settings

Refrigerator: It is recommended that your refrigerator temperature is set between 37°F - 39°F

Freezer: It is recommended that your freezer temperature is set to 0°F

Using SuperCool and SuperFreeze settingsSuperCool temporarily drops your refrigerator temperature to 34°F for quickly chilling drinks or large grocery hauls, turning off automatically after 2 hours. For freezing items fast, activate SuperFreeze a few hours before shopping. This setting lowers the freezer to -8°F to keep food from melting, turning off automatically after 6 hours.

Water FiltersIf your refrigerator has a water filter, it is recommended that you replace the water filter every 6 months or when the refrigerator indicates it needs to be replaced. Immediately after installing the new filter, remove and throw out 5 minutes worth of water from the water dispenser and one ice bin worth of ice cubes. Also, remember to reset the filter indicator on your refrigerator when replacing the filter.
