Plant based, Gluten & Dairy Free Cacao Smoothie with Lisa Raleigh

Smoothies are great as a powerbooster, light meal or snack in between meals. Our raw cacao smoothie is dairy free, gluten free and vegan, which makes it suitable for lactose intolerant people or plant based diets. Follow our recipe below to achieve a great creamy texture and maximum natural flavour packed with protein and healthy fats for a balanced and nutritious diet.

Raw Cacao Smoothie Ingredients

This recipe makes 2 large or 4 smaller smoothies.

  • 2 tbsp sunflower seeds
  • 2 tbsp goji berries
  • 2tsp raw cacao
  • 4 tbsp pea protein powder
  • 2 frozen bananas
  • 1 cup ice
  • 2 cups of almond milk
  • 12 blocks of frozen coconut milk /cream
  • 2 tbsp Cacao nibs

Method

Prepare your smoothie in a few simple steps:

  • Place ice in blender and crush.
  • Add almond milk and blitz for a couple seconds.
  • Add the rest of the ingredients and blend until smooth.
  • Add as much ice as desired, more ice makes a thicker smoothie and less ice if you prefer a thinner smoothie.
  • *Optional *Add a dash of honey if you prefer a sweeter taste and a TBLS of peanut butter for a nutty flavour.
  • Pour into a chilled glass and enjoy! ????
