Refrigeration
Setting the right temperature
While the general recommended temperature for the refrigerator compartment is 4°C, you can choose from a temperature range between 3°C and 8°C degrees. With a VitaFresh compartment, the temperature is kept at 0°C degrees.
The temperature in the freezer compartment can be set from -24°C to -16°C, it's recommended to choose -18°C or lower for long-term storage.
For general guidance on how long various kinds of foods can be stored in the freezer compartment at maximum, you can find information printed onto one of the freezer compartment boxes. It tells you the maximum storage duration at a constant temperature of -18°C.
Store your dairy products, eggs, ready meals, pastries, open preserves and hard cheese in the regular refrigerator compartment. The VitaFresh compartment keeps fresh food like vegetables and meat fresh up to three times longer than the refrigerator compartment.

Compared to washing up manually, using a dishwasher saves energy and water. With Bosch dishwashers, you can save up to 8,500 litres of water per year.*
*Internal research based on comparing cleaning dishes with a dishwasher versus washing dishes by hand. 40 litres for manual washing compared to 9,5 litres per dishwasher cycle results in 8.500 litres saved per year, calculating with 280 cycles per year.
You want to save even more water and energy? Load the dishwasher to its full capacity, which is defined by number of standard place settings that can fit in.
We recommend to adjust the water softening system and choose the rinse aid based on what type of detergent you are using, solo or combined (e.g. 4in1). Note that the effects of rinse aid components in combined detergents can be limited by e.g. water hardness and you will in general reach better results using a separate rinse aid.

The amount of laundry loaded into your washing machine impacts the energy and water consumption. Loading the machine to the ideal/max. capacity as indicated per programme is recommended for best energy efficiency as well as to prevent creasing.
Always use specific detergent for different types of fabric
Protect your washing machine and your laundry by using the correct detergents and care products that the laundry's fabric asks for. Separate your laundry by colours and fabrics and do not mix different detergents.
