    • Care and cleaning instructions for the Tassimo.

Warning: Vinegar is never to be used in the cleaning and descaling of the Tassimo. Do not immerse the appliance in water, use a steam cleaner or use scouring agents. Wait until the piercing unit is cool before removing or cleaning as it can get quite hot immediately after brewing.

      To clean:

      • Wipe the exterior with a soft, damp cloth.
      • Wipe the barcode scanner with a soft, damp cloth so that the appliance can scan the barcode on the T Disc properly.
      • Rinse out the water tank and filter cartridge holder by hand and with water only. Do not place in the dishwasher. The lid of the water tank and the Service T Disc should also not be washed in the dishwasher.
      • Remove the T Disc holder, the piercing unit and the drink outlet and clean thoroughly. These can be washed in the dishwasher. All parts related to the cup stand can also be washed in the dishwasher.
      • If preparing a number of drinks one after another, the piercing unit may be manually cleaned quickly and easily by holding it under running water.
      • We recommend that you clean the brewing unit regularly using the Service T Disc

      To clean the brewing unit:

      • Remove the filter cartridge.
      • Fill the water tank with water to the max mark and reinsert into theappliance.
      • Turn the appliance “On” and place a large cup that is a minimum of 8 oz. onto the cup shelf under the drink outlet.
      • Lift the lid of the brewing unit and place the Service T Disc in with the barcode facing down.
      • Press the “Start/Stop” Button. The cleaning process will begin and dispense water into the cup. When the cleaning process has finished, empty the cup and put it back on the cup stand. Repeat this step 4 more times.
      • When finished, open the brewing unit and remove the Service T Disc. Store the Service T Disc at the back of the appliance behind the water tank.

      To descale:

      • If your Tassimo has a water filter, remove the filter holder and cartridge before descaling your Tassimo.
      • Remove the water tank and fill with water and the descaling product according to the descaling product manufacturer’s directions. Place the water tank into the appliance. Descaler can be purchased in the Bosch Accessories & Parts Store (part number 00573828).
      • Insert the Service T Disc into the brewing unit with the bar code facing down.
      • Remove the cup stand and insert in its place a cup that holds a minimum of 17 oz. Place this cup under the drink outlet.
      • Press and hold the “Start/Stop” Button down for approximately 3 seconds. The descaling program will now start and will last for approximately 20 minutes. The “Stand-By” icon will light up after the descaling program has run for 20 minutes. Empty the cup and replace it under the drink outlet.
      • Rinse the water tank thoroughly and fill it with water up to the max mark. Insert the water tank back into the appliance. Open and then close the brewing unit, ensuring that the Service T Disc is still in place. Press the “Start/Stop” Button. The machine will now rinse itself. Once this cycle is complete, empty the cup and replace it under the drink outlet. Repeat this step 3 more times.
      • The descaling program is now complete. Open the brewing unit and remove the Service T Disc and store it in the compartment located at the back of the appliance.
      • If your appliance uses a water filter, place the filter holder and cartridge back into the water tank. The cup stand can now also be placed back into the appliance. Your Tassimo is now ready for normal usage.
