Matter for Home Appliances

Matter is an open smart-home standard that enables basic communication between appliances, devices, and smart-home platforms across manufacturers. For Bosch appliances, Matter supports core control and monitoring use cases — providing a standardized way to integrate appliances into compatible smart-home environments.

Matter capability is currently available on Bosch 100, 300 and 500 Series refrigerators. Additional Bosch appliance types are planned to support Matter in the future.

The Home Connect App & Matter

The Home Connect app remains the central platform for Bosch appliances, offering the widest range of features, services, and appliance-specific experiences designed to improve everyday life at home. For Matter-enabled Bosch appliances, the Home Connect app is used to access the Matter pairing code. Once paired, your appliance can be controlled through any Matter-compatible controller (e.g. SmartThings), while Home Connect continues to provide advanced functionality, updates, and Bosch-specific services.
