In heating the oven to 480°C, the pyrolysis function uses some additional energy – about 3.6–4.7 kWh for the cleaning process.

Are self-cleaning ovens worth it?

Although an oven that features our pyrolysis function carries a higher price tag, many people believe that never having to scrub the oven again is worth it. And let’s not forget the savings on the costs – to you and the planet – of chemical detergents.

How to clean a self-cleaning oven.

Once the cleaning programme is completed, all that’s left for you to do is to wipe the ash off the oven enamel at the base of the cooking chamber with a damp cloth.

The secret to ovens that do their own dirty work is high temperatures. Bosch ovens get up to 480°C and simply incinerate grease and grime.
