              • Cleaning and care instructions for your electric range’s exterior.

We recommend wiping away spills on a timely basis so that spills do not become hardened and difficult to remove. View our How-to-Videos on the Bosch YouTube Channel to learn how to clean a glass cooktop and how to clean stainless steel.

Warning: Do not use any cleaning agent on the glass while the surface is hot. The resulting fumes may be hazardous to your health and result in death or injury. A blade scraper may be used while the cooktop surface is hot.

Wipe off spatters with a clean, damp sponge, cloth or paper towel. White vinegar may be used if smudges remain.

To clean the glass ceramic area of the cooktop: Apply a small amount of glass ceramic cooktop cleaning cream to a soft, clean cloth. Wipe this on the cooktop surface (which has cooled down) and then buff with a clean, dry towel. You may use any appropriate glass ceramic cooktop cleaning cream.

To clean glass surfaces other than the cooktop: Wash with hot, soapy water and a soft cloth, rinse and then dry or use glass cleaner.

To clean painted surfaces: Wash with hot, soapy water and a soft cloth, rinse and then dry. Do not use powder cleaning agents, steel wool pads, oven cleaners and other abrasive cleaning materials.

To clean stainless steel: Clean stainless steel areas by using mild, soapy water with a soft cloth. Wipe in the direction of the stainless steel grain when washing and drying. Rinse with water and wipe dry to avoid water marks. Do not use cleaning agents that are abrasive or contain chlorine since both are corrosive to stainless steel. For added shine, apply stainless steel conditioner and wipe off excess with a soft cloth. Do not apply stainless steel conditioners or cleaners to control labels or markings. Warning: Some stainless steel cleaners are known to have negative effects on materials other than stainless steel. Make sure to apply stainless steel cleaners to stainless steel components only! The Bosch stainless steel conditioner is available for purchase in the Bosch Accessories & Parts Store (part number 00576696).

To clean hard water spots: Minerals in some water can be transferred onto the cooktop surface and cause stains. Apply undiluted white vinegar with a soft, clean cloth. Then, recondition with glass ceramic cooktop cleaning cream as noted above.

Cleaners to always avoid: Cleaners that contain ammonia or chlorine bleach, caustic cleaners (such as Easy Off®), abrasive cleaners, dishwashing agents, metal scouring pads, scrub sponges, soap-filled scouring pads, powdery cleaners, and flammable cleaners. These products may damage or scratch your appliance.

Cleaning and care instructions for your electric range’s interior.

See the electric range’s Use & Care Guide for instructions on how to activate the oven’s self-cleaning process. Wipe off spills, pools of oil and excessive debris before activating the self-cleaning process. Not doing so can cause smoke and possibly a fire. Do not clean oven parts or accessories in the self-cleaning oven. The light in the oven cannot be turned on during the self-cleaning process. The special heat-resistant enamel and the polished components in the oven can become discolored over time. This is normal and does not affect operation. Do not use scouring pads, abrasive cleaners and commercial oven cleaners (such as EasyOff®). These items may damage the oven. Remove all accessories, racks and broiling pans before activating the self-cleaning process.

To clean the flat rack: Wash with hot, soapy water and a soft cloth, rinse and then dry. Do not clean the rack in the self-cleaning oven. If flat racks are cleaned in the oven during the self-cleaning mode, they will lose their shiny finish and may not glide smoothly. If this happens wipe the rack edges with a small amount of vegetable oil, then wipe it off.

To clean telescopic racks: Wash with hot, soapy water and a soft cloth, rinse and then dry. Avoid getting cleansing powder or residue in the telescopic slides. Re-lubricate the telescopic slides as needed by using high-temperature food-grade lubricants. Do not clean the rack in the oven during self-cleaning mode.

To clean the broiling pan and grid: Wash with hot, soapy water and a soft cloth, rinse and then dry. Do not clean the broiling pan and grid in the oven during self-cleaning mode.

To clean the fiberglass gasket: Do not clean the fiberglass gasket.

              • Cooktop range will not turn on.

Range may not be plugged in. Check to see if it is plugged in.

Cooktop panel is locked. Press and hold “Panel Lock” until the indicator light turns off.

Check to see if you are experiencing a power failure.

Power may not be flowing to the socket. Check if electricity is present at the outlet in question by using another small object that runs on electricity (e.g. hairdryer). If electricity is not present, consult a qualified electrician.

The fuse may have blown or the circuit breaker may be tripped. Replace the fuse or reset the circuit breaker.

Slight odor when a range is turned on.

This is normal with new cooktops and will disappear after several uses.

Routine maintenance for your electric range.

We recommend cleaning the exterior and interior when it becomes unsightly. Wipe away spills on a timely basis so that spills do not become hardened and difficult to remove. Be sure to wipe away pools of oil and excessive soil/debris in the oven before activating the oven’s self-cleaning feature. Not doing so can cause smoke and possibly a fire.

View our How-to-Videos on the Bosch YouTube Channel to learn how to clean a glass cooktop and how to clean stainless steel.

Bosch stainless steel conditioner is available for purchase in the Bosch Accessories & Parts Store (part number 00576696).

Please also refer to the ELECTRIC RANGES – CLEANING & CARE SECTION for additional information.

Cooktop seems like it is “ON” even though I have turned it off.

The HOT indicator light is on because the surface is still hot. This light is on for safety reasons.

Should I leave the oven door open while broiling?

No, this is not necessary. All modern ovens require that the oven door be closed while broiling. This reduces the amount of heat in the kitchen.

                How to self-clean an oven.

All models have slightly different instructions. Please refer to your Use & Care Guide to learn how to self-clean your oven.

Can I use oven cleaner in my self-cleaning oven?

No, we do not recommend using chemical cleaners in self-cleaning ovens. The porcelain surface is smooth and chemical cleaners may cause surface damage.

                Oven is not self-cleaning properly.

Allow the oven to cool before running the self-clean feature. Always wipe away loose soils/debris or heavy spills before running self-clean. Set the oven for the maximum self-clean time if the oven is badly soiled.

                Oven light doesn’t turn off.

Check for any obstructions in and around the oven door.

Check to see if the hinge is bent.

Oven light is not working properly.

Replace or reinsert the light bulb if loose or defective. Use gloves or a small wash cloth when handling the light bulb because touching it with your fingers may deposit oils on it and thus cause it to burn out prematurely.

The bulb may have burned out. Buy a replacement bulb.

View our How-to-Videos on the Bosch YouTube Channel to learn how to change a light bulb in your oven.

Do I need to install the anti-tip bracket?

Yes, absolutely. You may be held legally responsible if the anti-tip bracket is not installed and any damage or injury occurs due to it not being installed.

Warm air or steam is coming out of the oven vent.

This is normal. Do not block the vent.

My baked goods are not coming out as intended. They are overdone or underdone.

This may be due to an error in the baking technique (human error) or the oven may not be performing optimally. Darker baking pans require a 25°F reduction in oven temperature. Performing the Biscuit/Cookie Bake Test will let you know if the cause is human, bakeware, or oven error. This test is used it to help develop our ovens.

                Biscuit/Cookie Bake Test

Purchase Pillsbury Grands Biscuits or Pillsbury Sugar Cookies. They are “unbaked” and can be found in the refrigerated section of most grocery stores. We will bake these in the oven.

                1. Use a shiny, aluminum cookie sheet that is 12 x 15” or larger.
                2. Follow package instructions for laying the biscuits/cookies out on the cookie sheet. Failure to follow recommended package spacing will negatively affect bake results.
                3. Do not put the cookie sheets into the oven until PREHEAT is finished.
                4. If baking one cookie sheet, refer to your oven’s Use and Care Manual for the recommended rack position. If baking two cookie sheets at once, place them on the racks recommended in your oven’s Use and Care Manual.
                5. Follow package instructions for baking time.
                6. Do not open the oven door once the biscuits/cookies have been put into the oven. Use the oven light and window to view the biscuits/cookies if you wish.
                7. At the minimum baking time listed on the package, check the baking results through the window. If the biscuits/cookies are not baked to satisfaction, check them every minute and allow them to bake more until fully baked or until the maximum baking time listed on the package has been reached, whichever happens first.
                8. If the biscuits/cookies turn out well during the baking times noted on the package – this means the oven is performing properly and does not need a service visit.
                9. If the biscuits/cookies turn out overdone or underdone during the baking times noted on the package – this means the oven needs to be checked by an authorized Bosch servicer. Please schedule a service visit.
