Rated 5 out of 5 by from Why did we wait so long?Recently replaced an older dishwasher because of broken prongs to hold dishes and loud noise. Now I need to go over to the dishwasher to listen to see if it is running. It is AMAZING how quiet it is!! The dishes actually sparkle now. Love, love, love our new Bosch!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love My Bosch DishwasherI took much time before deciding to purchase this Bosch 500 series (January 2016). After comparing it with the newer 800 series, I found both series to be the same, basic machine. I noticed only two additions listed on the 800 that were not on the 500: 1- "Touch Control Technology" (the 500 has front, very slim, almost embedded "buttons" vs 800 touch panel), and 2- an extra program (6 instead of 5...an "Eco Cycle Saves Energy" option was listed on the 800; However, both 500 and 800 were listed as "259 kwh/yr - Energy Star®"). Now, the main reasons that I decided to purchase the Bosch dishwasher were: 1) Bosch has a low "dishwasher need of repair" rating (this was my NUMBER ONE concern after reading so many reviews with purchasers being left helpless!), 2) It is QUIET...44 dBA (my husband installed it and, initially, we thought it was broken because we heard no sound for a minute, even with our ears up to the machine...how awesome is that?), 3) It has the control panel on the outside (some reviewers for other brands complained about ruined dishwashers due to moisture getting to the top control panel over years of use), 4) It has a third, top rack for placement of longer, cooking utensils (Love It!), 5) The top rack placement HOLDS middle rack items in place (a big one for me is...no more lightweight, plastic cereal bowls turning upside down and filling with water during the wash...I still have to carefully position light items to be held by heavier items in the lower, taller rack), 6) It has a rinse cycle (9 minutes using the quick rinse cycle between washes!), 7) It has an express wash (40 minutes) when in need of getting a wash done quickly (nice because most energy efficient dishwashers now take a good two hours to cycle, this one does, too, in standard cycles). My dishes come out clean and shiny! Another thing that I noticed is that the utensil holder on the bottom rack has two varying depths....all of the wells seem to work for the longer, dinner knives. I have placed even longer, mixing spoons and spatulas in the deeper wells. I really like that when removed, it sits steadily on the counter without toppling over so that I can easily unload the utensils into their appropriate drawers. The smooth, shiny white surface is easy to wipe clean. It is apparent that much thought has been put into the designing of this dishwasher. I have noticed a few very minor occurrences. One is when the dishwasher is loaded to the max, detergent gel packs (the filled with powder type) don't always get completely dissolved. However, the instruction manual does seem to recommend liquid detergent and liquid rinse aid...not a problem. Also, using the express wash does not allow for dry dishes....again, not a real problem. As with any dishwasher, getting a feel for loading it comes with practice. The top and middle racks are pretty standard and easy to load. The taller bottom rack took a little more thought. There are prongs that are spaced to carry plates. One set is spaced farther apart than another set. I am assuming that the further spaced set of prongs is for dinner plates and the other is for salad plates. I don't always run plates, so, when running other items, the closer spaced prongs need to be figured into the loading plan. I can still place standard, tall, plastic glasses on these closer spaced prongs. So it all works. I might add that after checking around, I found that Sears.com was able to offer me a best price due to a sale, and the use of multiple, online coupons and Shop Your Way rewards...all found on the Sears site. (I am not affiliated with Sears in any way. I am just glad they are a retailer of Bosch dishwashers!) Would I purchase this dishwasher again? Absolutely! Would I recommend this dishwasher to a others? Absolutely!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great dishwasher!I love the features of this dishwasher. I've always thoroughly rinsed my dishes before putting them into the dishwasher but it is no longer necessary even though we only run it every 3 or 4 days. They come out clean and we're thrilled with how quiet it is. Would highly recommend!
