                  • How to activate the oven’s self-cleaning process: Wipe off spills before activating the self-cleaning process. Do not clean oven parts or accessories in the self-cleaning oven. The light in the oven cannot be turned on during the self-cleaning process. The special heat-resistant enamel and the polished components in the oven can become discolored over time. This is normal and does not affect operation. Do not use scouring pads, abrasive cleaners and commercial oven cleaners (such as EasyOff®). These items may damage the oven. Remove all accessories, racks and broiling pans before activating the self-cleaning process. In double ovens, the self-cleaning process is only available for one oven at a time.

To clean the flat rack: Wash with hot, soapy water and a soft cloth, rinse and then dry. Do not clean the rack in the self-cleaning oven. If flat racks are cleaned in the oven during the self-cleaning mode, they will lose their shiny finish and may not glide smoothly. If this happens wipe the rack edges with a small amount of vegetable oil, then wipe off.

To clean telescopic racks: Wash with hot, soapy water and a soft cloth, rinse and then dry. Avoid getting cleansing powder or residue in the telescopic slides. Re-lubricate the telescopic slides as needed by using high-temperature food-grade lubricants. Do not clean the rack in the oven during self-cleaning mode.

To clean the broiling pan and grid: Wash with hot, soapy water and a soft cloth, rinse and then dry. Do not clean the broiling pan and grid in the oven during self-cleaning mode.

To clean the fiberglass gasket: Do not clean the fiberglass gasket.

To clean glass surfaces: Wash with hot, soapy water and a soft cloth, rinse and then dry or use glass cleaner.

To clean painted surfaces: Wash with hot, soapy water and a soft cloth, rinse and then dry. Do not use powder cleaning agents, steel wool pads, oven cleaners and other abrasive cleaning materials.

To clean porcelain surfaces: Immediately wipe up acid spills like fruit juice, milk and tomatoes with a dry cloth. Do not use a moistened sponge or cloth on hot porcelain. When the oven is cool, clean it with hot, soapy water and a soft cloth, rinse and then dry. It is normal for porcelain to show fine lines with age due to exposure to heat and food.

To clean stainless steel surfaces: Wipe with the grain when cleaning stainless steel. Use a mild, non-abrasive cleaning agent or stainless steel cleaner with a soft cloth. Wipe dry to avoid water marks. Do not use cleaning materials that contain chlorine since it is corrosive to stainless steel.

                  • Oven may not be plugged in. Check to see if it is plugged in.

Check to see if you are experiencing a power failure. The power supply to the oven may have been interrupted. If the digital clock is flashing and showing three zeroes, the power supply to the oven has been interrupted. The clock must be reset before the oven will operate again. See the Use & Care Guide to learn how to reset the clock.

Power may not be flowing to the socket. Check if electricity is present at the outlet in question by using another small object that runs on electricity (e.g. hairdryer). If electricity is not present, consult an electrician.

The fuse may have blown or the circuit breaker may be tripped. Replace the fuse or reset the circuit breaker.

                  • When fatty foods are cooked in the oven (e.g. roasts), a certain amount of fat will be deposited onto the grill element. The next time that the grill is turned on this fat will burn off with an acrid smell. Leave the oven door closed during the grill warm-up process (5 to 10 minutes) and by that time most of the smoke should have dissipated.

                  • All our ovens have a ventilator fan, which keeps the oven housing cool. The ventilator fan will continue to run (even after the oven has been turned off) until the oven has cooled sufficiently. This could be 30 minutes or more depending on the cooking temperature used.
