Rated 5 out of 5 by from Much Better than last model!I just had my former Bosch dishwasher replaced with this one. It's sturdier and much quieter. Cleans very well. I like the red light indicator on the floor that lets you know it's on.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Bosch dishwasher review Model SHX53TL5UCAfter enormous research we recently (1 month ago) purchased this model Bosch dishwasher. To save you the same effort, here is what we found: - Smell – I have seen complaints of smell from the tub. This model has a completely stainless steel tub. It has no smell (as half-plastic tubs might?). This model does not have a grinder to chew up small pieces of food and flush them away, as my previous dishwasher had. This model has a removal grate which can be washed to remove old pieces of food still on the bottom. We have not flushed it and still have no smell. (We do tend to lightly rinse before dishwasher.) - Heating. There are some people who believe that Bosch washers do not have a drying element at all. This is false. - Sound. Do not over-pay for something you cannot hear anyway. This model is incredibly quiet (46 db). No reason to go lower. 60 db is a conversation at 3 feet; 30db is a whisper. You can hardly hear this thing in the kitchen. - Cycle times: Seems very long; default is over 2 ½ hours. - Door – “latch” door very useful – will stay open at various angles. - Drying - This model has selection choices for extra drying (Sanitize, Extra Shine). It also helps to have an all SS tub. READ THE MANUAL: there is a special standard permanent heat adjustment, which we use. Anywhere water “pools” obviously will take longer to dry. We do not typically unload immediately, but we have very satisfactory drying, without even using extra settings. - Tines. The tines are closer together than other brands, so that Bosch can claim it stores more place settings. Takes some getting used to, but plates come out clean anyway. - Soap Dispenser – Dispenser cover sometimes fails to lock in place, cannot dispense soap slowly. Big problem, maybe warranty issue. - Useless “long object” platform over top shelf – prevents ordinary tall glasses from storing under it. Cannot be removed, and is not necessary. Stupid. Very happy with our choice (and its price).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quiet GiantBosch dishwasher is like a sleeping giant! Powerful for the toughest dirty plates, cookware, silverware, but acts like a giant inside. Amazingly quiet so that the one who knows is working, is a person who knows the light is on.Sleek design and ease to clean outside. Better with a Bosch!
