Loading freedom plus time management: with VarioRack Plus and TimeLight, Bosch has introduced two innovative features in its dishwasher

  • VarioRack Plus: Height-adjustable elements and reversible pins ensure even more clearance on the third level
  • TimeLight: Exact remaining time displayed optimizes time management when loading and unloading fully integrated dishwasher

Munich – Starting in the fall, two new features will be included in the premium dishwashers from Bosch. In fully integrated built-in machines without a visible control panel, TimeLight, the remaining time display feature, now lets the user know how much longer the cycle is and also provides for better kitchen appliance planning. The new VarioRack Plus offers greater flexibility in terms of space.

VarioRack Plus: The benefit of loading freedom

With the VarioRack, Bosch introduced the third loading level in its dishwashers in 2008 – a space-saving additional storage area above the top basket for large cutlery and small dishes. Now the VarioRack Plus is being released with "Version 2.0." It is no longer rigid and made from one piece, rather contains in both side areas storage elements that can be lowered if more height is needed. This means, if needed, smaller coffee cups, small bowls or even soup bowls can be stored there. In general, the middle rack is placed somewhat lower which is separated from the side segments by small pins. These rows of holes can be shifted, if needed, in order to make room for broader or longer dishes. Sorting aids simplify maximum use of space with the VarioRack Plus.

Exact time input: TimeLight

Whoever has a fully integrated premium dishwasher from Bosch perhaps is familiar with the red light signal that displays on the floor whether the dishwasher is running or not. This signal – called InfoLight – warns the user not to open the door too early. However, more precise information concerning the machine's operating time was not previously possible. This has changed now due to TimeLight, the most recent dishwasher innovation from Bosch. TimeLight projects the remaining processing time in hours and minutes on an area of 40 x 40 mm and the respective program section on the kitchen floor. Regardless whether tiles, wood, or laminate – the display in white, which incidentally also functions with start time pre-selection, can be read everywhere. So just like with fully integrated dishwashers from Bosch, the operating time and the perfect time for unloading can be scheduled. The projection display also shows a warning when dishwashing water is missing.

Good ideas – very close to the user

Even these newest features in dishwashers from Bosch are clearly oriented toward the needs of the customer. This is shown by an initial acceptance study in Europe that the VarioRack Plus meets requests from many users for more flexibility on the third loading level. The proof: At first glance, 26 percent of those surveyed in this study would spontaneously reach for the Bosch prototypes among the five dishwashers with cutlery drawer – after more in-depth use of the product, it even went up to 31 percent in the test. And TimeLight is also much more than just an eye-catcher: It offers households in which exact time management is a high priority, the opportunity to plan better – without sacrificing the aesthetic benefits of a fully integrated dishwasher.
